Shahbaz Sharif started laptop scheme in 2008 when pml(n) government took charge of the government of Punjab. In start the basic aim of laptop was to give knowledge about the computer because this is a world of computer. A lot of people and political parties criticize laptop scheme in start but finally they accept the importance of laptop scheme. This scheme was purely on merit base and for government universities students who got 70 and more than 70 percent marks in 4 years bachelor program and higher degree students also give opportunity for this scheme.
Now in 2014 Punjab government which is headed by chief minister Punjab mian shahbaz Sharif decided to give laptops in this year as well. Now the scheme expanded to the college students also. Those students who are studying is intermediate can also take advantage from this scheme.
- This scheme is for male and female students.
The eligibility criteria of laptop scheme 2014 are given below:
Those students who are doing bachelor program whether they are doing simple 4 years bachelor, whether they are doing engineering, whether they are doing medical degree, whether they are doing BCOM or BBA from government universities, whether they are doing bachelor in agriculture and they must completed 1st year and 1st semester and got 70 percent marks in semester system and got 60 percent marks in annual system, these people are eligible for this laptop scheme.
This scheme is for male and female students.
Those students who are doing master degree and completed their 1st year and 1st semester and got 70 percent marks in semester system and got 60 percent marks in annual system, these people are eligible for this laptop scheme. This scheme is for male and female students.
- 100 top students which topped the metric exam will be entertained with this scheme as well.
- 40top students which topped the metric exam and intermediate exam from other provinces will be also entertained with this scheme as well.
- There are 4000 laptops for the deeni madrasa students also.
